It’s July 28th, 1973. A small business is set up in the city of Nova Prata (RS) with a strong vocation to become a huge company: Borrachas Vipal. Today, Vipal is a group of companies operating in different segments, but always with the same essence: to value the people, respect the environment and constantly invest in technology.
All these companies from Vipal Group follow the technology evolutions with the aim of minimizing at most the environmental impacts which are generated by their productive processes. The retreading of tyres, which would early be disposed in the nature, is a sustainable activity itself. Other examples of sustainable actions of the Group are the in-home programs of water saving, effluent treating stations, garbage collection for recycling purposes, the Seeds of Attitude project and the Shared Environmental Education Program.
We invite you to get to know a little more about the three major areas of Vipal’s operation: Vipal Borrachas, Vipal Plásticos and Vipal Financeira.
BORRACHAS VIPALAt first, Borrachas Vipal had its industrial park aimed at the production of patches for tyre and tyre tubes repair. In this segment, it was the pioneer in Brazil on cold vulcanization repairs. Today, it has the most complete range of products for tyre retread and tube repair.
Its factories are located in Nova Prata (RS) – Factories I and II – and in Feira de Santana (BA) – Borrachas Vipal Nordeste. The industrial park has a total area of 163,000 m², productive capacity of 18,000 tons of rubber/month and operated by nearly 3,000 employees.
The service and distribution system is composed by Regional Distribution Centers in São Paulo (SP), Contagem (MG) and Aparecida de Goiânia (GO) and by offices in Porto Alegre (RS) and Cabo de Santo Agostinho (PE). Branches in the United States, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Germany, Slovenia and Spain complement the structure.
In 1997, it was created the Tyre Retreading Network, exclusive for its brands, having more than 300 retreaders in Brazil and in the Americas.
Besides this, the company invests in a comprehensive training program for its customers, such as the Itinerant Repair-School and the Vicencio Paludo Technical Center (CTV). It even set up the Vipaltec in 2007, a laboratory certified by INMETRO where tests on tyres are performed for its own technology department, also available for customers and other companies in the retreading market and tyre manufacturing.
PLÁSTICOS VIPALHeadquarted in Porto Alegre, Plásticos Vipal was acquired by the Group in September, 2004. The company manufactures and trades high performance PVC products aimed at the civil construction. The Plásticos Vipal division is composed by three units: Retail Products (PVC folding doors, single panel doors, linear liners, modular liners and partitions, all of them under the brand name FACILITY), Frame Unit (high standard PVC doors and windows, NEOFORMA brand name) and the Home Unit (high resistance profiles for concrete houses with PVC coating, effective construction system, without material waste, CASAFORTE brand name).
